Inside Job

“Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

-Isaiah 40:30-31

I have tried….I have done my best to will myself to change. I have been enthused and excited for new beginnings, second chances and fresh starts, but I have failed, yet again. My excitement has wore off, I have fallen off course and lost sight of the destination.

So I come back to you, because, Papa, I know this to be true – If it is your will, it will be done. I ask you Papa, change me from the inside out, direct my every thought, word, and action to match your eternal plan for me.

I have big dreams and many desires Papa, but my ultimate dream is to unite fully with you and serve out your desires. I ask again Papa, transform me from the inside out. Mold me into the me you have designed me to be.

I trust your ever unfolding plan Papa.

The Work

13For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

-Psalm 139:13-15

The real work…

This work is your purpose, it is what gives your life a deeper meaning. This work is not something you choose, although you have free-will in accepting or denying this work. It is persistent, and will continually call you to wake up to something deeper within. This work is assigned to each of us before our time. It is who we are and what each of us will be. This unique purpose is knitted into every cell of our beings.

Many of us have been taught, we can be whoever we want to be, but this work tells us, we are each purposed for a specific mission. You may try many things, and serve many roles, but you must always come back to the real work. You may try to fit into a box, be the right things by doing the wrong things, your whole life may feel fake and fraudulent; but listen to that feeling… Trust it, because no matter, your real work will always be in need of your attention.

You may wonder, how do I know if this is my purpose? How do I know if this is my work? My answer to you… you will feel it in your bones. Your body knows, listen closely.

So to my fellow soul workers, doing the real work, keep it up!
